Dota 2 7.34e Patch Winners, Losers, and Unchanged Heroes

Dota 2 7.34e Patch

The Dota 2 community had mixed feelings about the latest 7.34e patch. Hopes were high for significant reworks on overpowered heroes, but the changes turned out to be less impactful than expected.

Some players even felt Valve missed the mark by not releasing this patch before The International to balance out gameplay, heroes, and items.

With the Kuala Lumpur Major looming, this patch hasn’t shaken up the meta much. Surprisingly, 7.34e stands out as the only post-TI update that didn’t heavily nerf top-tier heroes or introduce major game alterations. But amidst the mild adjustments, some heroes did enjoy beneficial tweaks.

Winners of Dota 2 Patch 7.34e

Enigma

Black Hole – Cooldown decreased from 200/180/160s to 180/170/160s

Enigma’s Black Hole is a game-changing ultimate. It received a reduction in cooldown from 200 to 180 seconds at level 4. Although seemingly minor on paper, this adjustment significantly impacts late-game scenarios, enabling Enigma to wield Black Hole more frequently. Along with Refresher Orb or Refresher Shard, this ultimate can potentially turning the tide in battles.

Lion

Earth Spike – Cast Range increased from 575 to 650

Lion’s Earth Spike now has an increased cast range from 575 to 650. This buff empowers lower-ranked players to leverage Lion’s abilities more effectively, making it easier to harass enemy heroes and potentially secure better results in matches.

Shadow Shaman

Hex – Damage Amplification increased from 5/10/15/20% to 10/15/20/25%

Rasta received a buff to his Hex, amplifying damage from 20% to 25% at its maximum level. This buff synergizes well with physical damage-centric lineups. This helps in quicker takedowns during the laning stage, especially when paired with heroes like Ursa.

Winter Wyvern

Cold Embrace – Base Heal per second increased from 30/35/40/45 to 40/45/50/55

Winter Wyvern’s healing ability Cold Embrace received a boost. It now has an increased base healing per second from 30 to 40 at level 1 and reaching 55 at level 4. This solidifies Winter Wyvern’s role as a potent healer, capable of saving allies caught in dire situations.

Losers of Dota 2 Patch 7.34e

Muerta

The Calling Duration decreased from 7/8/9/10s to 5/6/7/8s, Movement Slow decreased from 30% to 15/20/25/30%

The newly introduced hero Muerta faced some nerfs in her spell ‘The Calling.’ She now has reduced duration and movement slow. Although still a potent hero, these changes limit her early-game potential.

Necrophos

  • Ghost Shroud – Mana Cost increased from 50 to 75
  • Heartstopper Aura – Regen Duration decreased from 8s to 7s, Aghanim’s Scepter Health Regen to Decay decreased from 60% to 55%
  • Death Seeker – Cooldown increased from 16s to 19s

The Pope of Pestilence Necrophos encountered multiple cooldown nerfs across various abilities. This definitely impacts his laning phase and overall gameplay. Changes to Heartstopper Aura’s regen duration and Death Seeker’s cooldown hinder Necrophos’ efficiency in matches.

Kunkka

  • Ghostship – Damage Delayed decreased from 45% to 35%
  • Tidal Wave – Damage decreased from 250 to 180
  • Torrent Storm – Duration decreased from 5s to 4s, Cooldown increased from 70s to 75s

Kunkka’s Ghostship, Tidal Wave, and Torrent Storm saw damage reductions, spell duration adjustments, and increased cooldowns. These alterations have notably diminished Kunkka’s effectiveness in team fights and overall gameplay.

Chaos Knight

  • Base Damage decreased by 5
  • Chaos Strike – Lifesteal penalty against creeps increased from 40% to 70%
  • Phantasm – Mana Cost increased from 75/125/175 to 100/200/300

Chaos Knight suffered significant base damage reduction, lifesteal penalties against creeps, and increased mana cost for his ultimate ability. This makes it challenging for players to find success with him, particularly in offlane roles.

Unchanged Heroes in Dota 2 Patch 7.34e

Several heroes, including Bristleback, Spirit Breaker, Dark Willow, Wraith King, Witch Doctor, and Primal Beast, received little to no alterations in this patch. These heroes remain strong and maintain their impact in matches, potentially swaying the course of games.
