Attention parents, rather gamer parents! If your child has made in-game purchases on Fortnite, you might be entitled to a refund.
What’s the Hype?
Epic Games, the makers of the hit video game ‘Fortnite’, faced a hefty settlement with the Federal Trade Commission last year. They agreed to pay a whopping $520 million, addressing concerns over player privacy and alleged deceptive payment tactics.
Breaking it down:
- $245 million goes back to players for refunds concerning unwanted in-game items: outfits, emotes, or V-Bucks.
- An additional $275 million fine was imposed due to privacy breaches, especially involving players under 13.
