Visa Troubles for Team SMG’s Core Player
Team SMG has recently announced an unexpected change in their roster for the upcoming Dota 2 International 2023. Their pos 3 player, Masaros, has faced challenges in obtaining his USA visa, even after multiple attempts.
Therefore, the Southeast Asian team has decided to bring in Ivan ‘MinD_ContRoL’ Ivanov as a stand-in. However,they remain hopeful about Masaros receiving his visa.
MinD_ContRoL’s Proven Track Record
For those unfamiliar, MinD_ContRoL is a renowned figure in the Dota 2 realm, boasting a past win at The International. Specializing in the offlane position, he currently represents Nigma Galaxy. But the team unfortunately didn’t qualify directly for this year’s TI event.
Moreover, MinD_ContRoL’s was recently involved with team OG at the DreamLeague Season 21. They earned a commendable fourth place, taking home a prize of $85,000. He also collaborated with OG at the ESL One Berlin Major earlier in the year.
Anticipating The International 2023
Speculations have been rampant about potential visa issues for players, as the event is being held in the US.
The International 2023 is undeniably the epitome event of the Dota 2 tournament calendar. It is set to commence in Seattle from October 12, running through to October 29. Fans and participants are eagerly awaiting further details, including groupings and match schedules, from Valve.
